I’m Megan Richardson, a dog behaviourist and training instructor based in Stoke-on-Trent, covering Staffordshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire, East Cheshire, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry, and parts of Leicestershire and Warwickshire. I’m a Certificated Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CCAB) registered with CCAB Certification Ltd, and a registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB) and Animal Training Instructor (ATI) with the Animal Behaviour & Training Council (ABTC). I hold a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Clinical Animal Behaviour and Welfare from Harper Adams University.
I help dog owners struggling with reactivity, aggression, separation anxiety, fears, compulsive behaviours, and destructiveness. I also offer puppy training classes in Stoke-on-Trent and one-to-one dog training across the West Midlands, all using reward-based methods that build trust, confidence, and a strong bond from the start. Whether you’re welcoming a new puppy or working through a long-standing behaviour problem, everything I do is grounded in evidence-based, kind, and effective approaches — so that both dogs and their families can enjoy lasting, positive change.
My journey into behaviour work began in boarding kennels, catteries, and a rescue centre, where I gained hands-on experience with a wide range of breeds, temperaments, and behavioural needs. After helping my own dog overcome behavioural challenges, I developed a deep understanding of how stressful and isolating these problems can feel — and a determination to help other owners find kind, effective solutions.
I work as part of the team at Second Nature Behaviour, a vet-referred clinical animal behaviour practice in the West Midlands. We are a team of accredited behaviour professionals, and many of our services can be claimed through your pet insurance. Alongside my behaviour casework, I also mentor aspiring behaviourists, helping them build their practical skills and professional confidence.
